Like it says! It takes the mumbo jumbo out of contract law. This book is straightforward, not wordy and laid out like a programmed learning text. It is much better than Acing Contracts, Read this first, then Emanuel's Outline and E&E for Contracts and you should do well in Contracts. This book cuts to the chase but doesn't have as many cases. No legalize and confusing words in this book. No rereading of sentences to figure out concepts and wasting of your time. Buy It! Don't suffer through class lectures.UPDATE:IMPORTANT!!! There is a new 2014 book by Burnham by Lexis Nexis called Q&A contracts 2014 by burham 2nd Edition that has 230 multiple choice and corresponds well to this book. Buy It!

Thank heavens for this book! My contracts professor doesn't actually teach so I use this book and Barbri to learn the concepts before I read the cases. God bless you Mr. Burnham.

As general legal knowledge, this is an excellent read. Not being an American does affect the context as most of the references and cases are based on USA legal system (I am from South Africa). Notwithstanding this, if one has some legal knowledge, it is easy to filter out the USA specifics and to grasp the principles. As a currant law student, this was a helpful read, and the examples given truly simplify the legal jargon. I rate the book high as it is well presented, well structured and takes the reader systematically though the complex issues.

got this in kindle format. The format is confusing in kindle. You can't use with with the black background, because the 'gray boxes' use a font that is very light gray, impossible to read against the white background of the boxes. Might be OK in paper format. Seems as though one needs to purchase multiple books on contract law, because there really is no one particular way that the law is laid out. Each author uses their own way to categorize contract law

For someone who doesn't need a full legal education on contract law, this book was great primer on the subject. I know much more than I did and one can hardly argue with the price.

Definitely helped me with understand contracts. It provide a clear and simply approach that made it easy to read and understand.

I cannot afford to buy "Contract Law" books for Lawyers for several hundred dollars each.So, for such price like $15, this book is really good.I found here a lot of strong Affirmative Defenses ...But not all of these Defenses are applicable in the USA.

I have not used this book yet but started learning piano last year with the first two books and have learned so much from them! I played piano for one year as a child and now fifty years later, wanted to try again. These books are so easy to follow and make it very easy to learn step by step. I'm sure I will love book 3 as much as I and 2 and highly recommend these for other adult beginners.

I bought this book a few months ago, and it just sat. I played Piano almost 40 years ago. I took lessons for ten years. I forgot so much. This book is perfect. Exactly what I needed. I bought a brand new digital Piano, and sat down and finished book one in a day! I couldn’t stop. My husband was going to give me lessons again, but I don’t think I need them with these books. Book two should arrive today. I cannot recommend these books enough. Great variety of music. I learned I love to play the Blues.

I'm a piano teacher, and I've been using this system for years. It teaches chord theory right along with the music so that it makes sense and is easily retained. The music theory becomes part of the general piano instruction, the music is wide-ranging in type and style, and is nicely arranged, presenting a well-rounded musical education. I even use it with children, (who I don't usually accept as students until they are 8 years old,) who might have hands too small to make an octave stretch, because I hate, hate HATE the standard children's series, which take forever to progress, have stupid songs with even more stupid lyrics. *shudder* I'll use those series with younger, less mature students who need to go slower, but the vast majority of my students can handle the adult series, and enjoy it, and the adults really appreciate it.

Learning piano by yourself is not an easy task, specially if you have never had any musical back ground . The method is technically very interesting, but I find her to play without the CD, which is not included. I was trying to play even without the CD, until I came across some blessed soul that videoed herself playing each track of the book and uploaded to YouTube. When I heard the pieces , I realized how wrong I was playing, how wrong I was touching the keys and how I missed the tempo. It is hard to acquire that only reading thru the techniques. So, if you want to teach yourself piano, be sure to find a version of the book with the audio enclosed.

Great set of learning books. I purchased all 3 books and I think they are great. With any books like these, I do suggest using a teacher because sometimes its best to have someone critique you in person. For self learners, this book boosts knowledge with theory and has great finger exercises.

Amazing fun book. This book has helped my wife and I increase our piano skill. It is just full of songs which each have a different style. Every style of song is in this book. Each song increases in difficulty. The book teaches you a new key and gives several songs to help you learn that key.

I have used Book 1 with three students; one adult two teenagers. The students found the book "boring" and enjoy the additional music I provide. The theory, scales, chords and other information will be beneficial in the future. I found the book very informative and believe it will be a good reference for the students as they progress in the study of music.

At 70+ I started taking piano lessons and ordered Levels One, Two and Three of the Alfred’s Basic Adult All-in-One Piano Courses. Because the books include theory and technic pages it helps one to understand the basic concepts of music. The books have really helped me to advance in my lessons at a faster pace. Purchasing all three at once has saved me money as compared to purchasing the books at a music store.

It’s an interesting little book and I recommend that anyone interested in the environment or good nutrition or global climate change should read it.It’s really about restoring the earth’s soils—with a little help from grazing animals. In a chapter entitled “Ground Zero for Carbon Dioxide Reduction Is the Ground,” she cites some startling studies describing the relationship between soils and global climate change. According to Rattan Lal of Ohio State University, “. . . the soil could offset about one-third of the human-generated emissions annually absorbed in the atmosphere.” She goes on to say that “We’ve lost an estimated 50 to 80 percent carbon in our soils over the last 150 years.”In a chapter called “Beyond Eat Your Vegetables,” Schwartz reveal the lack of nutrition in our soils and how that translates into less nourishing food. She quotes nutrition and agriculture educator, “Some nutritionists estimate that the food we eat today has just 30 percent of the nourishment of what our grandparents ate as children. The major reason,” says Sait, “is declining soil quality . . .”“. . . the major portion of farm income is now expended on the inputs required to maintain production as soil function fails. An enormous industry . . . depends on us not finding solutions to the problems in agriculture,” Schwartz writes. These problems generate enormous income for manufacture of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides, toxins that sterilize the soil, she continues.And how do cows get into this discussion? It’s not through the gas they emit, although the digestive process that produces methane also benefits the soil. Herbivores’ chewing and digesting with the help of millions of microorganisms in their guts break down plant materials so that they can fertilize the soil. Their hooves disturb the soil so moisture and nutrients can enter.My dad wrote in a letter, back in the late forties, that the “future of the Great Plains is in cattle.” One argument against growing meat animals states that they take up land that could be used for growing crops to feed people. But some areas, not suited to growing food for people, provide good grazing. Managed properly, those areas can produce succulent grass-fed meat as well as building soil and sequestering carbon.Schwartz’s arguments are compelling. A great book for those who want to better understand the ways a well managed livestock operation can help improve water cycling and soil health. A must read for those who believe that cow farts are the cause of climate change. This book is a paradigm changer.

This is really important information. This country needs to stop growing so many annual crops (corn and wheat) which deplete the soil and require huge amounts of petroleum fertilizers and petroleum for harvest and planting. We must put more land back into grass. The USFS and BLM need to really monitor the grass on existing land so as to maintain natural grasses that cattle feed on. A friend of mine raises Wagyu cattle on public land which has been monitored responsibly for over 50 years and those cattle eat only grass. The meat grades choice and sometimes prime so it tastes good plus has very high Amino fatty acids. It can be done.

I always look forward to a new Jim Korkis book about the numerous rarely shared and previously hidden corners of Disneyland and the other Disney theme parks. After reading numerous book by Jim and by others about Disneyland, I had my doubts that Jim could surprise me with anything new. Once again, Jim proved me wrong! I loved the contents of this book which shared info on Disneyland I never knew - even though I've always considered myself an "amateur expert" on Disneyland. Although the "LOOK INSIDE" option posted on Amazon is helpful, it does not contain a complete listing of the contents of the book. One page of the contents is missing - that page lists 26 stories of Disneyland from Critter Country, Fantasyland, Mickey's Toontown, and Tomorrowland. In fact, two of my fave stories in the book are under Fantasyland - Disneyland Time Castle and Items In Time Castle. My favorite section of the book is the last section BEYOND THE BERM. I especially enjoyed the 8 stories of this section because the parts of Disneyland just outside the main inner park is rarely mentioned in any book about Disneyland. Thanks for yet another OUTSTANDING book Jim! As with all your books I have read, it is full of interesting information and entertaining anecdotes. I much look forward to your next book!!

I recently listened to an interview Jim did on The DIS Unplugged podcast about this book. I loved the book and how easy it was to read. His insights and use of past interviews was very interesting and knowledgeable. Even an avid Disney fan will find things they didn't know or corrections of stories they thought they knew.

Jim Korkis is the man. I listened to him on a bunch of podcasts before deciding to order this book as my first of his large catalog. It's got some awesome stories that are really short and easily digestible. I love the format, his stories broken up by lands, then just gives you one short, yet super interesting story per page. Easy to pick up, read a couple, then set down to come back later. Or just to devour all in one sitting.

Jim has been one of my main go-to historians whenever I needed a Disney fact. This novel was quite enjoyable and filled with many 'I didn't know that' moments. Whether you are a casual Disney fan or a regular Park-goer, this book has something for you. Nice work, Jim! I hope you keep these gems coming!

I'm very pleased I purchased and read this book. It's a quick and easy read since it's broken down into many page and a half chapters. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about Disneyland park-- but I learned lots of new things from this book!

Good book, lots of interesting stories but if you've bought "The Disneyland 1955 Companion" you've already read about half of them.

I put this book, along with a few others, in my guest bedroom. This is the only book that any of my guests have picked up to read. It’s fun because they’ll come downstairs and share random facts about Disneyland with me. It has made for a great conversation starter.

Jim always does his research and continues to deliver fun and interesting reads. Highly recommend this to fans of not only Disneyland but Disney Parks in general. Pick up any of his books...you’ll enjoy them.
