John Phillips is one of the best commentators of scripture I have found. He pulls the Old and New Testaments together in a way that helps to understand that the Bible truly is one book written by one author to reveal the one God of the universe. His insight is outstanding. His explanations are clear, concise, and easily understood. While leading an upcoming study in the book of Daniel, I intend to make John Phillips' "Exploring the Book of Daniel" one of the central "go-to" tools.I have several volumes by John Phillips (including the New Testament set) and I strongly recommend any of his books. You won't go wrong reading this wonderful author's work.

Phillips is a master at digging into theology and still making it relevant and understandable to the lay person. I highly recommend his commentary, and also the one he wrote on the Book of Revelation.
I was confused about how Daniel fit into the history of the time it was placed in the Bible, but even more how it affected New Testament times and then how it affects today's happenings. This commentary is very helpful to a novice Bible student and easy to understand. The book is full of helpful facts about the times of Daniel.
