Review

“Vintage Iacocca . . . He is fast-talking, blunt, boastful, and unabashedly patriotic. Lee Iacocca is also a genuine folk hero. . . . His career is breathtaking.”—Business Week

I've been using this phone for a few months now and have had a chance to use most of the features. Most of them are pretty standard to cell phones these days, but a few things are worth commenting on:-Great speakerphone. Very loud and clear sounding, both ways.-Decent battery life. Almost lasts a week with minimal usage; 2 days with heavier use.-Battery meter is very inaccurate below 1/2 charge. Seems chronic with Motorola phones.-Nice, clear display. A bit hard to see in the brightest sunlight, but other than that, no problems.-Camera is of average quality at best. Takes okay pictures for a new wallpaper, but that's about it.-Serious annoyance: One of the side buttons that remain exposed when the phone is closed controls the type of ring/vibrate. It's very loud if you don't already have the phone on silent/vibrate only. Basically, to quickly change to phone from a loud ring to silent--say in a theater--you have to make a loud noise. Very short sighted. And since the button is exposed even with the phone closed, you end up hitting it by accident quite a bit.Overall, I'm pretty happy with the phone. I could've chosen a smaller phone with a better camera, but not with a speakerphone, or with speakerphone, but not at this price. (...) Can't beat it on value.

Growing up in the seventies even in Australia you heard things about Lee Iacocca in the newspapers and on the news and not all good particularly around the time Chrysler pulled the pin on Australia after making a deal with Mitsubishi.Being a student of history I knew that there was more to the Man than what we read in the papers. I was already aware of what he had do for Ford and also he had brought back Chrysler for the bring of destruction. The one thing I didn't expect from Iacocca's story was an excellent lesson in networking in business. Although in his book he never sells himself as a master net-worker.Yet in is credit he constantly mentions people by name from mentors and people under him praising the team around him for the success of the company. This book is an excellent demonstration of How a business is built on people a lesson that is so often forget in today's fast paced world. As the world gets smaller with technology it is more important than ever that your business connections, the people you keep closest at work have more to do with your success than anything else you do. If you are looking at success than this is a must read Lee Iacocca has shared his mistakes and success that is not dry like some autobiography's I found the book both entertaining and informative.Darren Teale

Meh. Somewhat disappointing. This book just didn't stick out to me compared to other business auto-biographies (like "made in america" by Sam Walton). His journey wasn't really that fun to read nor did I learn much that I hadn't already known. The main thing I did like about the book was the historical context and some car facts that I hadn't known. Other than that, this book gets a "meh" from me.

I liked the line, "Make America Great Again". I know I've heard it before. My background it pretty similar to Iacocca's. My Dad was an Italian immigrant who came through Ellis Island and had great life living the American dream. His three children didn't do too badly either. I don't know if the same can be accomplished these days.

The statements about our trade agreements and national debt are still very true and more important than when this book was written. Wake up American citizens, there is no free lunch. Maybe if Iacocca were president he could have implemented his policies and actually made progress on our debt. If we all sacrifice equally (government included) we could succeed.

Iacocca's got his weakness, but they're far overshadowed by his strengths. To the point, courageous and like to have fun in life. What's fascinating is his view of business related to government regulation in the early 1980's. I think he was ahead of his time when you consider the S&L crisis of later in that decade and the most recent housing bubble. Iacocca also has views of equity and privilege that are fascinating as well. It's a quick, fun and thoughtful book anyone interested in leadership or business should take a look at.

As they say, good things come in small packages! I know that I'm happy that I purchased this phone, but my g/f is ecstatic! This is my first cell phone purchase. It is VERY user-friendly (I easily customized my phone without the guide...directions/manuals are for whimps :) My V300 arrived activated and somewhat powered up ready to use, but my only dilemma was how quickly I could learn how to use all of the many cool functions before running out of power.I'm a photographer and the phone's camera is no where near what I'd consider a serious contender in the field, but it definitely is a fun feature to have on board.Apparently this is a high-demand phone and Amazon's shipping estimate is (much) later rather than sooner. Their original shipping date was about 5 weeks away -April 14th. I received it in 5 days!I think that this is a great purchase. I know my g/f thinks so too!
